Consumers’ perception of sports statistics, blockchain as a strategic resource in the European marketplace, the psychological and decision-making mechanisms of sustainable fashion consumption, and work addiction as a new form of deviant organizational behavior were but a few of the topics discussed at an international conference of the Doctoral School of Management and Business at the University of Debrecen. Nearly a hundred presentations were given in as many as nine different sections at the event held on Wednesday at our Böszörményi úti campus.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy at the University of Debrecen in honour of Professor Madhaw Singh Baghel, an internationally respected scholar of Indian Ayurvedic medicine and the founding Chairperson of the University of Debrecen's Ayurveda Chair. The ceremonial event on Tuesday was attended by His Excellency Anshuman Gaur, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Hungary. Afterwards, the Ambassador and his delegation met with university and faculty leaders to discuss future cooperation opportunities.
The Chinese director of our Confucius Institute (CI) at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Debrecen has become the recipient of a highly prestigious recognition. In 2025, the leadership of Tianjin Foreign Studies University honored Professor Cui Xianjun by awarding him the title of Best Chinese Director of the Year in the pool of directors from as many as seven CIs that they operate as partner institutions.
During the course of their visit to the University of Debrecen, the members of a delegation from the Education University of Hong Kong discussed opportunities for cooperation in research as well as teacher and student exchanges. A dual degree that is unique in Europe may be earned by the four Hungarian students who have been the first to win scholarships for a program run in cooperation between the University of Debrecen and South Dakota State University (SDSU) in the United States. These selected students from the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Science and Environmental Management, who will study at South Dakota State University for two semesters as part of their precision agricultural engineering training, will be leaving for the overseas institution on Wednesday.

Gert Loosen has received a prestigious award and high honor from the monarch of Belgium for his outstanding work in expanding and improving Hungarian-Belgian cultural and professional relations. In accordance with the idea of international mobility, Anna Zsófia Nagy, who currently specializes in pop music singing at the Institute of Pop Music of UD, will get a chance to take part in a training program offered by Loyola University in New Orleans. She will be the first ever pop music student in Hungary to participate in an international scholarship program, making it possible for her to pursue her studies for almost six months in one of the key hubs of the music industry.
A renowned expert has joined the staff responsible for the teaching and research activities of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management at the University of Debrecen. Michael Gonda, a professor of the Department of Animal Science at South Dakota State University (SDSU), arrived at the institution on a Fulbright scholarship. During his four-month stay, he will be teaching applied animal husbandry and quantitative genetics at the faculty and will also be involved in beef cattle genetics research.
